When Miche lived in Nashville, TN, a couple of friends went on vacation to Alabama and while at an Italian restaurant there, came upon a delicious seasoning in their oil for dipping bread. After much flirting with their handsome waiter, followed by some more flirting with the chef, they emerged from the restaurant with the coveted recipe and gifted Miche a jar of this manna from heaven. Miche quickly realized it was good for many things; not just for dipping oil for bread. In sauces, on meat & vegetables, on salads and much more! When Miche was preparing to move out of Nashville, after much begging, and maybe some alcohol, and perhaps a little bribery, she convinced the keepers of the stolen recipe to look the other way while it was stolen again.
Over two decades Miche tweaked and perfected the formula, lowering the salt and refining the balance of the herbs. Miche gifted bottles of spice to friends and family, but she could never make enough to fill all the requests. The recipe took time to make and the quality ingredients she used were not inexpensive, so some folks had to wait for the next time, and the ones who did get some wanted more! Because of this, there was an outcry from the teeming masses that she should put it in a bottle and sell it.
Miche took their advice and went retail; launching Mama Miche’s Magic Kitchen with Miche’s traditional Twice Stolen Spice™
Delicious! Easy! Yum!
