Shrimp Creole

This is Mama Miche, and today in my Magic Kitchen: Shrimp Creole

This recipe comes from the recipe my MIL cooked for her kids. For the hubster's birthday through the years, she would make him the dinner of his choice and this was a frequently requested meal. If you make it, I think you'll know why. I use our Twice Stolen spice blend, and yes, it's that versatile. It replaces plain salt in the original ingredient list. It's a delicious update to an already great, comforting meal. That's one way we redefine comfort food in Mama Miche's Magic Kitchen.

Peachy Mango Roast Cornish Hens

This is Mama Miche, and today in my Magic Kitchen: Peachy Mango Roast Cornish Hens.

I was going to make the Thai chili chicken thigh recipe on my YouTube channel and in the cookbook to be released soon, but I felt adventurous. I decided to play around and concoct another poultry dish for Rosh Hashanah this year. I'm so glad I did. The whole famdamily loved it, which is always a sweet way to celebrate a new year, with content bellies nourished, full, and happy. This is what I came up with. I hope you love it too!

Honey Sweet Chili Chicken `24

This is Mama Miche, and today in My Magic Kitchen: Honey Sweet Chili Chicken

Wait a minute. It's not deja vu. We shared this recipe last year and I say it's worthy of a re-share. It's that good. It's that easy and I hope it becomes a staple on your menu like it is on mine. Perfect for Rosh Hashanah! This recipe is for 4 but it's easy to quadruple for a large gathering.

Hibachi Chicken

This is Mama Miche, and today, in my magic kitchen: Hibachi Chicken

Hibachi is a family favorite for celebrations for many families in the US. I think life is cause for celebration, and now restaurants are more expensive than ever, so if we just feel like celebrating life without the expense, here's how we do it! We love our "outdoor kitchen". It's nothing fancy, but we grill and smoke to our heart's content on our little side porch. There's nothing more iconic than hibachi chicken and fried rice and zucchini!

Linguine with Clam Sauce

Twenty-one years ago, I went to Memphis for Labor Day weekend to play at a music festival and spend time with the guy I had started dating. His birthday was the following week, so I offered to cook him a homemade birthday meal. I went all out with several courses and outfit changes and was as extra as could be. So extra. I can laugh about it now. I wanted to share the main course recipe with y'all, and it struck me that I should make it for my hubster's birthday and record it for our channel. Twenty-one years ago, I made him this meal in hot pants. Now, I'm more of a yoga pants gal. It's a good thing we had a shared love language… Food!

Smoked Cream Cheese

This is Mama Miche, and today, in my magic kitchen: Smoked Cream Cheese

I usually just smoke cannabis and leave the rest to the hubster. He smokes the meats, poultry, fish, etc in our smoker. Then I saw people smoking cream cheese and thought, that I can do. So, hubs set the smoker up, and after he smoked some killer ribs, I took over and smoked the cream cheese covered with our Memphis Mojo Rub™, and I am definitely hooked! Holy Shit! I tried it on crackers, kettle chips, cucumber, and bagel chips. All fantastic (that's fantastic and orgasmic)! Take it from me, try it, and you'll see…

Wasabi Salmon

I love salmon. It's not the hubster's favorite fish, but he enjoys most of the various ways I make it. This recipe is one of his favorite ways I prepare salmon. I love the zing of wasabi in the sauce it cooks in. Wasabi. It's fun to say and a tasty way to clear your sinuses. When I lived in Nashville, my friend Joe would visit the town on business, and we would always go out for sushi and saki. The first time I took him to my favorite place for sushi, there was a big blob of it in one of our rolls, and when it hit, our eyes teared, and the way he said the word "wasabi" through tears made us both laugh, and to this day, it still makes me smile to say wasabi. This recipe will make you smile.

Cheese Blintz Pancakes

There are no easier pancakes than these to make, and you should always double this recipe. Always! It's so delicious and light and packs a little protein punch with the cottage cheese. It is a helluva lot less work than homemade blintzes and satisfies the taste buds that sometimes crave a cheese blintz. You know what I mean? It can't just be me. (Can it?) I love a good cheese blintz, and this recipe is a much healthier alternative made in minutes. Do not skip the lemon zest. Do not, I repeat, do not skip the lemon zest! Listen to me. You know, Mama knows best.

Fish Tacos with Corn Slaw

My daughter and I went to see a movie with friends last week and of course we had to stop and have a meal at the Silver Diner first. I had a sandwich that came with a side of coleslaw. There was corn in the coleslaw. I was surprised. I had never had corn in slaw before. So, when I wanted to make fish tacos, which I absolutely love to eat, but usually make with a mango slaw, I decided to make my own corn slaw, and I have no regrets. Not only was it the perfect accompaniment to this taco, but I could eat it by the spoonful. OK, full disclosure, I did. You will love this and add it to your repertoire!

Avocado Toast

This is Mama Miche, and today in my magic kitchen: Avocado Toast

I came to a realization while working on the 2 e-cookbooks we are ever so close to releasing. That realization was that I've been cooking for a long time, and many of the recipes and techniques that I think are easy may not be easy for a new cook. This recipe is something anyone, even a total novice or newbie, can make. I promise it doesn't get any easier than avocado toast. It's toast. And an avocado smashed with some avocado oil and Twice Stolen Spice™. You can be a purist or top with bacon, fried egg, cottage cheese caprese, chili oil, and so much more! It's simple. You wanna be Sigma in the kitchen?
